About the disease
Coronavirus
(COVID-19)
COVID-19 is a new disease, of which, we still have much to know. Symptoms are very varied, ranging from patients with no symptoms, to the development of severe acute respiratory syndrome and death.
Not all those infected have symptoms, but even if they have no symptoms they can still spread the virus. The director of the Center for Disease Control (CDC), said in an interview that up to 25% of those infected with COVID-19 do not develop symptoms (1 in 4 infected, 25 in 100). Those who do develop symptoms usually do so from the fourth day of infection.
To prevent contagion, social isolation is recommended as a first measure, maintaining a minimum safety distance of 2 meters, followed by hygienic measures such as regular hand washing for a minimum of 20 seconds, and the use of a mask, which could well be made of fabric, for the general population.
